Toy Machine Skateboards was founded in 1993 by artist and professional skateboarder Ed Templeton. Toy Machine is known for its unique art style found on skateboards and apparel . But Toy Machine's most iconic items are its socks . In the early 1990s, the brand added a touch of evil and weirdness to skateboarding culture, which at the time was dominated by the laid-back vibe of Californian skateboard brands. Toy Machine became especially known for Ed's unique graphics. Whether they're dark demons or goofy turtles, Ed's illustrations are instantly recognizable. He doesn't care that some people find the graphics weird or shocking; Toy Machine simply isn't for everyone.
Toy Machine "Bloodsucking Skateboard Company"
Besides Ed's recognizable style, the Bloodsucking Skateboard Company is known for its groundbreaking videos, which are just as hardcore as the gear the company produces. Skateboard films like "Welcome to Hell" (1996) and "Jump Off a Building" (1998) showcased a whole new type of skateboarding. Toy Machine's videos didn't feature long technical runs on smooth schoolyards, but instead featured lightning-fast montages of skaters launching themselves off enormous stairs and handrails. Skaters like Chad Muska, Bam Margera, and especially Jamie Thomas pushed themselves harder and bigger than anyone else. This take-no-prisoners mentality is still at the heart of Toy Machine. Although the brand has undergone many team changes over the years, the team still consists of skateboarding stuntmen, including Leo Romero, Daniel Lutheran, and Jeremy Leabres. Toy Machine founder Ed Templeton is also still going strong.
